May Her Memory Be a Smile
Liraz was a great light in the world. Her kind words, thoughtful actions, and radiant smile positively impacted those around her.
Her family and friends embarked on this journey of commemoration, believing that through it, they can continue to spread Liraz’s light, share her story, and allow her to keep inspiring others to embrace her light.
Below are the various ways Liraz is being commemorated and the opportunities you will have to join this journey of remembrance.

When the alarms sounded on the fateful Saturday of October 7, 2023, Liraz managed to leave the party with her friends and was on her way home.
However, at the infamous 'Bend of Death' near Miflasim, attackers were lying in wait.
At 6:53 AM, Liraz sent us voice messages—saying goodbye and telling us she was under fire.
About a month later, after piecing together the details of the tragedy, we discovered that the attack occurred at this specific location, where her vehicle was found.
Tamir visited the site and found the scattered contents of Liraz’s bag on the road.
This is where Liraz was likely murdered.
In her memory, we established the 'Liraz Memorial' at that very spot.
The project began on Tu B’Shevat 2024 with the planting of an almond tree, a symbol of blossoming and renewal.
This commemorative corner was lovingly created by her family and close friends, led by her father, with the generous support of David Shlomo and Avi Zeno.
The memorial also includes a symbol of peace and love—qualities that defined Liraz throughout her life.
A bench and plants now grace the site, and if you visit, you are welcome to water them.
Beit Liraz
In the spring of 2024, a heartfelt ceremony was held to dedicate the newly renamed building, "Beit Liraz" (House of Liraz), to honor Liraz Asulin, of blessed memory. The building, formerly known as "Marnir," is located in the industrial area of Be'er Tovia, and its new name commemorates Liraz’s enduring legacy.
The ceremony was attended by local leaders, friends, and the beloved family of Rivka and Meir Assulin. The event began with Liraz’s grieving parents unveiling the memorial stone dedicated to their daughter.
Ben Cohen, Head of the Be'er Tovia Regional Council, remarked, "We hold onto hope and faith that better days will come, that smiles will return, and that we will grow again."
Adir Naaman, Head of the Shafir Regional Council, said: "Liraz paid the ultimate price with her life, but she left us with an eternal legacy—her joy and her smile."
A city council member, Shlomi Malka said, " In her death, she has commanded us to cherish life."
Meir, Liraz’s father, recited the Kaddish in a trembling and broken voice. He struggled to speak in memory of his daughter but thanked everyone who contributed to her commemoration. He said: "Now, there isn’t a single moment when she isn’t with me, with us, with the family. As time passes, it only becomes more difficult."
With deep gratitude, Meir personally acknowledged everyone present at the ceremony and all who supported and helped to honor his beloved daughter’s memory.
Rabbi Yaakov Shweika delivered words of Torah and comfort in Liraz’s memory. An emotional moment marked the conclusion of the ceremony when Rabbi Yitzhak Amrami recited the prayer "Avinu Malkeinu" (Our Father, Our King), and the entire audience joined in. The rabbi also blessed IDF soldiers and prayed for the safe return of the abductees.
The ceremony ended with the audience singing "HaTikvah" (The Hope).
May her memory be a smile, forever.
